Tree care

Safe tree removal, from start to clean finish

Tree removal is dangerous work, so it should go to people with the knowledge, equipment and experience to do it safely. We take trees down in controlled sections, haul off the wood and grind the stump if you want it gone too.

What we remove

Any size tree, in tight spots too

Some recent jobs: a large ficus overhanging three neighboring properties, Australian pines, oaks, Norfolk Island pines, mango trees, and double royal and coconut palm removals.

Dead and dying trees

Trees that have died or are in decline, taken down before they drop limbs or fall on their own.

Hazard trees

Leaning, cracked, hollow or storm-damaged trees that pose a risk to people, homes or vehicles.

Trees near structures

Careful sectional removal next to roofs, fences, pools and screen enclosures, and over neighboring yards.

Palm removal

Single palms and clusters, including tall royal and coconut palms, removed and hauled away.

Haul-away

Logs, branches and brush loaded with our grapple truck and taken off the property.

Stump grinding and restoration

Stumps ground out and roots cleared. We can install new sod, mulch or a replacement tree too.

Before we cut

Is removal the right call?

Removing a tree is permanent, and it isn't always necessary. Before recommending removal, we look at a few questions:

  • Is the tree a danger to people, buildings or its surroundings?
  • Would removing it improve the property or the health of nearby trees?
  • Does the tree have historical or community value worth protecting?
  • Could pruning solve the problem instead?

When a tree may need to come down and you need documentation, James can provide an arborist report on its condition.

Questions

Tree removal FAQ

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Often, yes. Many cities in Broward and Miami-Dade regulate removing certain trees, and the rules vary by city and species. Ask us when we come out for your estimate. We'll tell you what's likely required, and James can provide an arborist report when one is needed.

How much does tree removal cost?

It depends on the tree's size, where it stands, how much room there is to work and whether you want the stump ground. No two jobs are the same, so we give every customer a free on-site estimate rather than a one-size-fits-all price.

Is stump grinding included?

It can be. Let us know you want the stump gone when you request your estimate and we'll include grinding and root cleanup in the price.

Can you remove a tree that hangs over my neighbor's yard or my house?

Yes. We've removed trees like a large ficus overhanging three neighboring properties. The tree is taken down in small, controlled sections so nothing lands where it shouldn't.
