Palms define a South Florida yard, and they're easy to over-trim. We take off dead and hanging fronds, seed pods and old boots, and leave the healthy green crown the palm needs. Every palm is trimmed to county code and ANSI A300 standards.

What's included
Dead, brown and hanging fronds removed cleanly at the trunk, so the palm looks tidy and nothing falls on cars, roofs or people.
Seed stalks, fruit clusters and coconuts cut out before they drop, stain pavers or attract pests.
Old leaf bases (boots) removed to clean up the trunk, including the diamond-cut finish that shows off a date palm.
Royal palms and other tall palms trimmed by experienced climbers using ladders and climbing gear.
Dead, diseased, crowded or unwanted palms taken down, from small areca clusters to tall coconut and royal palms.
Palm stumps ground out and every frond hauled away, so the area is ready for sod, mulch or a new planting.
The right amount
The "hurricane cut," which strips a palm down to a few fronds pointing straight up, is common in South Florida, and it does the palm no favors. Green fronds are how a palm feeds itself. Cutting them off stresses the tree, thins the trunk over time and doesn't make it any safer in a storm.
We take off what's dead, dying or a hazard, and leave the healthy canopy in place. The palm stays strong and looks natural.

Trunk skinning
Date palms hold onto their old leaf bases for years. Skinning cuts those boots back to reveal the pattern underneath. Done carefully, it gives the trunk a crisp, sculpted look without cutting into living tissue.

Questions
Most palms need attention once or twice a year, depending on the species and how fast it drops fronds and seed pods. Coconut palms often need more frequent visits to remove coconuts before they fall.
Yes. Our crew regularly trims tall royal palms using extension ladders and climbing gear. Tell us roughly how tall your palms are when you request an estimate.
No. Over-trimming weakens a palm. Removing dead fronds, seed pods and coconuts before storm season is helpful. Removing healthy green fronds is not.
Yes. We remove palms of all sizes and can grind the stump and clean up the area as part of the same job, so you can replant or lay sod.
